冷卻液混加導致增壓壓力低,汽車動力嚴重不足故障——Low boost pressure due to coolant mix-up, severe underpowering failure。

 

 


車輛進廠維修,車主反映儀錶板上出現發動機故障報警提示,發動機運轉時抖動明顯,且動力嚴重不足。經維修人員檢查,發動機出現故障的原因與保養不當有密切關係.究竟這個故障是怎麼回事?

故障維修流程

連接診斷儀檢測,發現多條與動力系統相關的故障記錄,核心故障是“增壓壓力低”,而其他故障記錄則普遍由增壓壓力不足所引起。從車主描述的“動力嚴重不足”來判斷,增壓壓力低的故障大概率源自渦輪增壓器運轉不暢,乃至存在抱死的問題。

 

潤滑不足,是造成渦輪增壓器轉子抱死的最常見原因。維修人員檢查機油,顏色和液位正常,也未攜帶金屬碎屑,機濾狀態也合格。舉升車輛,從下方檢查渦輪增壓器,發現其殼體表面附著有乾涸的冷卻液,懷疑是冷卻管路的介面存在洩漏。然而從冷卻液顏色判斷,使用的冷卻液並不符合原廠要求.


將渦輪增壓器冷卻水管斷開,看到冷卻水管的密封圈已經嚴重腐蝕,失去彈性並出現了洩漏現象,這應該與使用的冷卻液內含腐蝕性成分有關

拆下渦輪增壓器並解體,看到轉子軸承等部件存在明顯磨損。而此前已經確定機油並無異常,因此判斷是使用了不符合要求的冷卻液,造成渦輪增壓器散熱不佳,最終導致渦輪增壓器內部因過熱而嚴重損傷,運轉不暢。

 

由於工作時溫度很高,渦輪增壓器需要嚴格的冷卻和潤滑。如果冷卻液的流動性不能滿足需求,水泵輸送到渦輪增壓器處的冷卻液流速就會降低,勢必會嚴重影響散熱效果

維修總結

發動機轉速越來越高,外形尺寸越來越小,對潤滑和冷卻的要求更高,這需要車主選擇高品質的冷卻液、機油和機濾等部件,不可隨意更換其他來歷不明的產品。否則可能造成渦輪增壓器等部件無法充分散熱,冷卻系統部件也可能受到腐蝕

The vehicle was serviced and the owner reported an engine fault alarm on the dashboard. The engine shuddered significantly when running and was seriously underpowered. Troubleshooting process

The core fault was "low boost pressure", while other fault records were generally caused by insufficient boost pressure. Judging from the owner's description of a "severe lack of power", it is likely that the low boost pressure fault was caused by a turbocharger that was not running smoothly and even had a lock-up problem.

Insufficient lubrication is the most common cause of turbocharger rotor stalling. The oil was normal in colour and level and was not carrying any metal debris and the filter was in satisfactory condition. The vehicle was lifted and the turbocharger was inspected from below and dried coolant was found on the surface of the housing, which was suspected to be a leak at the interface of the cooling line. However, judging from the colour of the coolant, the coolant used did not meet the original manufacturer's requirements.

Disconnecting the turbocharger cooling water pipe, the seal of the cooling water pipe was severely corroded, losing its elasticity and leaking, which should be related to the corrosive components in the cooling fluid used

The turbocharger was removed and disassembled and obvious wear was seen on the rotor bearings and other components. It was determined that there was no abnormality in the oil, so it was decided that the use of a non-compliant cooling fluid had caused poor heat dissipation in the turbocharger, which eventually led to serious damage to the turbocharger due to overheating and poor operation

Due to the high operating temperatures, the turbocharger needs to be cooled and lubricated intensively. If the flow of the cooling fluid is not adequate, the flow rate of the cooling fluid from the pump to the turbocharger will be reduced and the cooling effect will be seriously affected.


Maintenance summary

The higher the engine speed and the smaller the size, the higher the requirements for lubrication and cooling, which requires the owner to choose high quality coolant, oil and filter components, and not to replace them with other products of unknown origin. Otherwise, components such as the turbocharger may not be able to dissipate heat sufficiently and the cooling system components may be corroded.
